Understanding of Research Methodology is a prerequisite to start the research work; 10-day workshops like this can provide many opportunities to meet fellow researchers from various institutions and other disciplines as well as Resource persons across the country on a single platform.
This workshop aims to introduce not only Research Methodology along with SPSS as a course to the researchers, but aims to introduce the Basics of Text Analytics through Open Source Softwares like R / R Studio / TROPES / Gephi. In addition to that, Advanced Data Analysis softwares like AMOS / LISREL/ PLS are gaining importance amongst researchers for model building and testing.
Workshops like this, will remove the constraint of theoretical foundation as well as hands-on experience of using software packages. Moreover, Paper Clinic Sessions may provide opportunities for the researchers to discuss the research issues with the respective expert in the elective streams. This will be very helpful to sizzle their research problems / hypotheses.
The Government of India as one the two Central Universities of South India established Pondicherry University under the Act of the Indian Parliament. The President of India is the Visitor and the Vice-President of India is the Chancellor of Pondicherry University. The University is located in a sprawling campus spread over 780 acres of land, facing the Bay of Bengal on the East Coast Road. It is easily accessible from Chennai (168 km) and Bangalore (300 km). The University is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities and signed Memorandum of Understanding with several foreign Universities/institutes. Pondicherry University been accredited by the National Assessment of Accreditation Council - NAAC (An Autonomous Institution of the University Grants Commission) with A Grade in 2018 for a period of 5 years.
The School of Management is the first academic entity of the University established as the centre of excellence in 1986. This School of Management has six departments. It is one of the largest school in the University with more than 60 faculty members, more than 225 research scholars and 1000 plus students.
For the past 31 years, the department has been catering to the needs of aspiring management and research students with a highly competent team of 15 faculty members, DMS serves as a boon to the ardent students who have the striving thirst to learn and practice management. The department been rated high by many rating agencies such as STAR NEWS, Indian Express, Business India, India Today, CSR-GHRD and many others and signed MOU with leading International Universities.
